Kappa Alpha Theta Scholarship
Leadership, Success and Ecucation
Scholarship is an individual responsibility that each member has to herself. It is also a responsibility that each member has to her chapter and to the Fraternity. In pledging herself to Theta, each member takes on all the responsibilities of membership, and striving for the highest possible scholarship is one of these responsibilities. Working for the good of the chapter and helping the chapter to meet Fraternity expectations are also responsibilities of membership, and these are other ways in which scholarship can be considered a responsibility to the chapter and Fraternity.
A well-designed and executed scholarship program helps each member to attain her scholastic potential and helps the chapter to reach the Fraternity's expectation.
The Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation annual scholarship program was established in 1960. Since its inception, this program has furthered the educational careers of hundreds of Thetas through the assistance of Foundation scholarships. Continually increasing financial support has enabled the Foundation to foster the highest intellectual achievement of our members by building an internationally recognized scholarship program. All Foundation scholarships are merit-based awards and are awarded only to initiated undergraduate or alumna members of the Fraternity. Recipients are announced onMay 30th of each year.
Each year the Foundation awards the prestigious Betty B. and James B. Lambert Graduate Scholarships in amounts ranging from $4,000 to $10,000. Numerous other graduate scholarships up to $7,000 are also awarded from the Foundation's endowed educational trust funds and scholarship-restricted gifts received from the annual fund drive.
The Founders Memorial Scholarships were established in 1970 to annually honor the Fraternity’s four most outstanding junior undergraduates who demonstrate and exemplify academic excellence and the leadership skills demonstrated by the Fraternity’s founders in 1870. Each Founders Memorial award is $8,000. In addition, numerous undergraduate scholarships ranging from $1000 to $8,000 are awarded from endowed educational trust funds and scholarship-restricted gifts from the annual fund drive.
The Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation now annually awards more than one-half million dollars to collegiate and alumna members of the Fraternity! As one of the largest scholarship endowment programs in the Greek world, Theta's program truly is a vital support system for college women, enabling them to complete degrees and to reach their educational goals. It complements the Foundation's mission stated above as well as the missions of colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada.
Undergraduate and alumna applications are distributed to all Kappa Alpha Theta college chapters in October. Any alumna or undergraduate member may call (888) 526-1870, extension 336, and request an application be sent to her or one can be downloaded from the Theta Website. Applications are available in October. Completed applications are to be returned to Fraternity Headquarters at 8740 Founders Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268, and must be postmarked by February 1.

Each week we have an education session on various different topics related to academic success and improvement. We have members from the Center for Career Opportunities educate our members on interviews, studying, and internships. They also provide free critiquing of resumes to our members. Currently the majority of our members have obtained a 3.5 or higher GPA. We also hold a scholarship dinner for those on Theta Honor Roll to honor their achievements throughout the semester.
